About Me

Amanda Shotton is a self-taught fine artist, born in England, and now is proud to be a local Mississauga artist. Her acrylic landscapes add a different level of creativity by incorporating silhouettes to capture an emotion or feeling and exposing a landscape below. Amanda tries to capture the beauty in any moment make it relatable to her audience.

Amanda recently exhibited two pieces at the Pazan Gallery in Port Credit. Amanda is a member of the Mississauga Arts Council, and Arts on the Credit group.
In 2017 Amanda won 3rd in VAM’s Beyond exhibit, and 2018 was a finalist for a 2018 Emerging Visual Artist MARTY award!

Painting to me over the last ten years became a way of life, therapeutic both mentally and physically. In Dec 2012, my two eldest boys and I were hit by a car as pedestrians. I couldn’t find the joy in life anymore, I suffered many injuries, as did my kids. This is when fine art became an important focus in my life. For me the best form of therapy is painting and nature. And I want to share this with the world!

Original artwork and prints are available for sale, please feel free to contact me at amanda@ashotton.ca

Amanda is also available for commissions!
